Last
year, the 1st Annual Boise Experimental Music Festival was
a huge success and received accolades that placed Boise on the map
of other high caliber music festivals from around the world. The
festival received significant coverage in both the Boise Weekly
and Idaho Statesman "Thrive," and was awarded a grant
from the Idaho Commission on the Arts and National Endowment for
the Arts. In addition, last year's sponsors, who graciously helped
fund the event, included the Boise CO-OP, 3 Shapes Aikido, Boise
Weekly, Visual Arts Collective, Audio Lab, Good Boy Rufus Graphics,
and Boise Community Radio.
The
2nd Annual Boise Experimental Music Festival will be a three-day
music event occurring on April 26-28, 2007 at Visual Arts Collective
art gallery in Boise's Linen District. The festival will feature
23 performances and 18 artists from around the country, including
several major representatives of the experimental, avante-garde,
and creative music genres from New York, Chicago, California, Seattle,
Wisconsin, and British Columbia. This program will truly be a stellar
and mind-blowing event for enthusiasts of creative and innovative
music art.
Because
the Boise Experimental Music Festival is fundamentally a non-profit
event, it cannot occur without the support from local businesses,
organizations, and individuals, who value and wish to support artistic
diversity in the area. In order to cover event costs and help fund
travel expenses for top notch artists from around the country, this
event cannot proceed without financial donations and sponsorship.
